Arrived in Australia (AGAIN) haha

Hello again!
Arrived back in Australia yesterday morning and yeah.. I haven't been especially keen to blog anything and uploading pictures is going to take forever. Haha procrastination ahoy!

So yesterday I unpacked my stuff.. then left it on my floor and spend the rest of the day rolling around in bed and using the internet to browse tumblr for hours. (In Vietnam, I didn't have a very fast internet connection and just logging into tumblr took all my energy!) And today, I'm consuming huge amounts of food. I missed Western food so much! Eating rice + side dish everyday really makes you lose your appetite :(

I'm gonna get so fat. All this pizza, lasagne and chips.. haha

Anyway, will get to the pictures soon.. too lazy at the moment hurr hurr

Update: HAHA I ALREADY UPDATED AN 'Arrival' BLOG POST. Posting this anyway because I'm a loser.

I have -finally- returned from my five weeks away in Singapore and Vietnam. And boy am I tired! And yet still have to unpack.. there's a lot to blog in the coming weeks, I miss the feeling of procrastination.. haha

Welp, just updating that I haven't quite died just yet.

Hi there, still in Vietnam. Staying in Saigon for the time being and above image is of me happily browsing the internets. Connection is bad and the internet is slow, but I must satisfy my craving for tumblr.

For the next week, I'm gonna be travelling back to Binh Phuoc (again) for Chinese New Years. I hope it's gonna be fun and that we'll eat other things apart from rice = =

Asians love their rice.
Signing off for now, enjoy your holidays internet.

PS. Dyed my hair! Now it's a tasty chocolate brown :D

a very satisfied stomach

Updating to the internet world that I haven't died in Vietnam just yet. Currently in Nha Trang on an island resort called 'Vinpearl'. It's quite nice, and as part of the package deal for staying at the resort, you have access to the buffet restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I'm going to return to Australia fat and ready to be roasted.

Also I've noticed that whatever my fork touches, I eat it.

Coffee endeavours

Hi everyone on the internets!

Just a reminder that I am certainly not dead. Just melting from the heat and being terrorised by annoying little cousins. And I realise I haven't blogged properly in like... forever.

And since I don't really have all the pictures with me (they're sitting on the camera and dad's harddrive) I feel like an important point to make in a very extremely upsetting blog post is that you can't rarely find good coffee anywhere.

I'm someone who enjoys (very) sweet coffee (ie. white chocolate mocha) and I don't know if you're aware of this, but vietnamese coffee is very bitter! I think the coffee beans that are grown in Vietnam are bitter because of some magical reason (maybe its the dirt or being near the equator, idk, google it).

But coming from experience for the past week or so, I travelled to Sa Dec (in South Vietnam) and we travelled in the crappiest car that was ever made. The engine was breaking down, the windows didn't work, the aircon was weak and everything about the car was just uncomfortable. So when we stopped by a coffee house, I asked for some iced coffee (aka 'ca phe sua da' aka. coffee and condensed milk). The viets serve the coffee usually with ice, or mixed with condensed milk because the coffee is super bitter and strong.

And on this particular hot day, ohmygosh it was so satisfying. Amazingly tasty and so so sweet, so obviously I loved it.

Since then, I've been touring south Vietnam to visit some distant relatives and every now and then (everynowandthen = every day, three times a day during meals) I ask for the same thing. And every single time the coffee was just disappointing!

I would have about three servings of iced coffee and none of them compared to the very first. I know that you're probably thinking 'it's because of the heat and that's why the coffee tasted so good!' Well I assure you, the rest of the bloody journey was in heat too, so my coffee adventures remain fair.

But I've never truly understood the whole deal with 'it's so hard to find a good cup of coffee!' because I always buy my stuff at Starbucks or Gloria Jeans and they make pretty standard stuff and the baristas mostly make similar tasting coffee. That and the fact that I hardly ever drank coffee to begin with.

But now I understand and boy does it suck. I hope your coffee adventures have been better than mine.

Goodnight everypony!
