Roadtripping to the aquarium (and the adventures along the way ermahgerd!)

Hello! It's been a while since I've managed to write an actual blog post because I've been swamped (not really, I'm just being a bit lazy) with uni work.

In late June, me and Ly HAD to take a roadtrip to the aquarium on the Sunshine Coast. Mainly because I really wanted to go to the aquarium because I missed seeing all the fishies at the Sydney and Singapore aquariums. If you didn't know me, I absolutely LOOOOOVE aquariums. And goldfish.

But anywhoooo, we've talked about going on this trip a while back and since I was on holidays from uni we made it happen >:) I've never actually been on a road trip before, so this was all oh so totally new to me. And to be honest, it wasn't really a road trip since it was only an hour or so drive BUT NONETHELESS it counts because it was so much fun and oh so special to me.

I think Picasa messed up the pictures that were uploaded because the pictures from that morning and missing from this blog post. But in the morning, we stopped by Mos Burger and lost our Mos Burger virginities together, yay! And by 'virginity', I mean never-had-it-before-lets-try-it-together sort of thing. And since I managed to be late (grr, I hate being late!) we had to eat the burgers in the car.

The burgers were so so yummy but there was so much sauce. Half of the trip was spent feeding each other, finding tissues and spots of sauce all over his shirt/my dress. That sentence sounded kind of dirty.

I even brought my SLR camera with me to take purty pictures. Despite the fact that thing is heavy as bricks.

Oh look, picasa decided to upload the photo from Mos Burger. No burgers in this picture though :(

To the Sunshine Coast!

After paying the admission fee they gave us these super awesome shark stamps! They were so AWESOME. I wish they were printed darker though, you can't really see them :(

I think this fish is called a lion fish? I don't know, but it looks like a lion and I've heard that they're deadly poisonous.

And so are rock fish. I'm pretty sure this is a rock fish.
I would make a pretty horrid marine biologist.

And Ly wore the shirt I got him too! So cheesy I wanna punch him in the face.
As a sign of affection, of course.
(I apologise for any violence.)

AND SEALS. SEALS EVERYWHUURRR

And cute squeaking otters that smelled like tuna! I never noticed but otters kind of look like cats. And did you know they hold hands when they sleep? They do it in case they drift away from each other in the currents while they sleep. How cute is that? :O

Discus fish I think? So colourful

And matching mood rings! His stayed green and blue all the time, which stood for relaxed and calm? And mine was ALWAYS purple. Romance. Bah.

And then we watched the seal show! They were so cute, balancing balls and doing flips and jumps!
But sad story of the day, I wanted a seal kiss and a photo from the seals but being the OCD person that I am, I refused to take the photo by myself and wanted Ly in the picture with me but nooooooo, the seals are trained to be in the picture with one person only and otherwise they might get distracted or something something. Whatever, but it was so sad I wanted my seal kiss!

One day, I shall return. With courage, and I shall have my seal kiss!

These seals are so talented. They put me to shame D:

And after cruising around the aquarium, we walked along the pier and did awesome stuff. We visited the candy shop and since the aquarium wasn't as big as we expected, we found a place called the 'Bellingham Maze' and it is the coolest thing ever.

Seriously, best date.

It's a hedge maze.

Oh my god.

-dead-

Sadly, picasa is being a poo and not uploading the rest of the my pictures but it was a real hedge maze. The maze was sort of lacking greenery here and there but seriously it was the best adventure ever! Upon purchasing tickets, they would hand you a pencil and a riddle puzzle to solve. Snow White's dwarves are hidden in the maze and you had to find their names matching to the colour of their hats so you could find the missing letters to solve the riddle.

'It's dangerous to go alone, take this!'

ermahgerd it was just so awesome, running around the maze and counting all the dead ends. It's really nice to just go somewhere and get lost, you know? We did find Snow White, a windmill and some giant mushrooms. I wish the photos would upload but they're not. Damn.

One day, I would like to go back to that maze. It really was one of the best experiences :)

Lena's Birthday!

So it was Lena's birthday on a cold night in May and to celebrate we headed out into the city and southbank for mexican food, hot chocolate, tea and ice cream in the midst of winter. Because we're cool like that. And ice cream tastes best in winter anyway :D

After meeting up and spending a considerable amount of time strolling around Southbank/huddling in the warm airconditioning of the cinemas looking for food we found a little mexican place (The Burrito Bar) with real tacos and burritos and stuff :O

What a cool name right? the BURRITO BAR. The murals on the walls were totally cool and if you can spot it you can see the deathstar :D Totally awesome. Sadly, I didn't take many pictures here because I was so hungry that I didn't even take pictures of the food :( Everyone else had tacos, but I had quesadillas! and even to this day, I still have no idea how to pronounce it. Should've seen the look on the cashiers face when I ordered ahaha he's probably used to seeing weird people like me pronounce mexican food names wrong anyway hehe

Was also super unphotogenic that day too and I may or may not have photoshopped some of the following pictures. Don't trust what you see on the internet!

After our warm burritos, we strolled around Southbank some more talking about the stupidest things. Since high school, we haven't really had the time to hang out with each other like we did that night. We talked about everything fun and stupid and did the stupidest things. And then someone had the great idea (ahem, Kerming) to roll down the hill.

Rolling down the hill was awesome fun and we kept running into each other and basically making a mess of ourselves. Literally. Well, for me, at least. Embarrassing story... I rolled in bird poop HAHAHA It was so embarrassing but whatever! All in good fun and luckily for me Nhu had tissues on hand :O

And then later we discovered that Lena rolled in bird poop too. HAHA
What a coincidence.

And then we took a bunch of photos. Of course.

and then we made a human pyramid. and Alex called the guys a bunch of weak wussies because they couldn't hold their weight. ahahaha we're all a bunch of girls :D

And since it got SO cold after rolling around in dewy grass all night, we headed to Movenpick for warm hot chocolate and tea.

And made our own sugar moustaches, Alex demonstrates.

LEANING TOWER OF MOVENPICK.
My awesomely amazing piece of art.

And then after movenpick we headed back out onto the grass to camho some more.

And then took more pictures. And this time posing as the AVENGERS. Guess who's who?
From left to right: The Hulk, Iron Man (and his moustache ahaha), Captain America, Thor/Loki, Black Widow

Do I fail as the Black Widow, or what? Nowhere near as good looking at Scarlett Johansson.
- drool - Scarlett Johansson... she's godlike. I have a mega girl crush on her ♥

So afterwards, we headed to Cold Rock for ice cream! And camho-ed some more.

And created a makeshift birthday (ice cream) cake for Lena
How do you like them candles? ;)

We had a huge mix up of flavors, I'm not even sure if I remember them all..
Bailey's Irish Cream, hazelnut, vanilla or something else chocolate/vanilla related? mixed with Nutella and maltesers. So good. The whole ice cream tub disappeared in a matter of seconds.

Oh and Picasa messed up the order of my pictures too, gosh = =

Welp, it was a fun night and lots of giggling was had wahahaha

Nhu's birthday!

UPDATE: Was in the middle of writing this blog post, now I cbf so yay!

Last month, in celebration of Nhu's birthday we thought it would be an epic idea to hang out and do what we do best: eat. (Or at least what I do best anyway) We headed to the beachouse in the city for dinner of steak and pasta. We were so hungry we didn't even do that thing that asian people do: take pictures of their food.

Half of us ordered the petite rib eye steak and when it arrived (I quote Lena) - 'That IS petite.' What a let down :( Anyway, food doesn't matter (yesitdoeswtf), basking in each others awesomeness is what is important :D

Nhu's name was spelt wrong bahaha

Being the ninja friends we are, we all ended up getting Nhu alcohol for her birthday knowing how in love she is with tequila ahahaha

Photo spam because we didn't really do anything but eat and consume alcohol.

We stopped by fat louie's but that place always smells really bad and in general, it's just kind of shit. Although the drinks ARE cheap. But the place was still too seedy for our liking and headed to Gilhooey's for a few fruit tingles. They're purple. How cool is that.

ugh unflattering photo ha.
