I am the biggest procrastinator. Haha, I've left this post sitting in my drafts for about a month now and been contemplating writing it up but then I get too lazy to do it. I actually enjoy blogging, but procrastinating everything is just a tad more enjoyable.
Herp derp, these pictures are from December last year. Me and Nhu had an impromptu trip to the Gallery of Modern Art and ate everything in our paths.
First up, Vapiano for breakfast.
I just love the carbonara, I always come to Vapiano thinking 'Let's try something new this time' and when the chef goes 'What would you like today?' I always end up ordering the carbonara anyway. Failwhale.
Yay my ugly face. ahahaha After a good breakfast, we WALKED to the Gallery of Modern Art. Yes, we walked. Amazing, right? Working off all that cream and saving money on public transport ftw.
GOMA's exhibition that was on was Yayoi Kusama! Exciting stuff guys. I actually wrote an essay on Kusama's artwork wayyyyyyy back in high school so it was super exciting to actually see her stuff irl and not just on google images and it was pretty darn awesome.
I forget what these installations are called. But all I can tell you is that Kusama uses a lot of trippy mind bending stuff. And polka dots. Lots of polka dots. Also these photos are illegal. You're not supposed to take pictures in the gallery but with my ninja skills I pulled it off :D
This is done by a different artist, but pretty awesome nonetheless. More pictures of this kind of stuff later.
This installation was super duper fun. I wish I could have seen the room before it was covered in polka dots. But this is the closest thing to seeing it untouched.
And of course, we camwhored. Who wouldn't. Not even those narcissistic hello kitty loving bitches couldn't.
Did I also mention that it was super duper interactive? You went in there, pick up a sticker sheet of ..well dots, and stick them EVERYWHERE.
Love forever, indeed ♥
After wandering around and trying not to take pictures of everything, we headed downstairs and found some thinking bubbles. We don't usually use our brains that often, so we decided to give it a go.
And this is the kids interactive section! This is called 'We miss you, Magicland!' Everything in this installation was so immaculately detailed and you could just look at everything and always find something new. Like in a Where's Wally book, you know? You look for Wally, but you always find something else instead. Observation is key.
I even recognized some cute Sylvanian families toys as well. I love them so much, they're so adorable! I wanted a little house, with a little family in it and thought it would be very decorative to put it in the hallway but then dad was like 'NO IT'S EXPENSIVE AND USELESS' Obviously my father has no interest in cute decorative things.
OH This was the hilarious part! After going through the whole entire piece, we got to make our own 'magicland'. Being the immature young adults we are, we named it Pooland. The rulers of Pooland are Poomaster and Lieutenant Poo. Pretty classy here, guys.
And these are the other sections of the art gallery. Pretty awesome stuff, I reckon.
And after a good trip to the gallery, we had to get some cheesecake at Starbucks. Cheesecake is the best.
And who said we were gonna skip out on dinner? To Toscani's we go to! Mmmm, the chef's bread is so good. And who doesn't love garlic butter? Yes, I'm going to get diabetes. Whatever. At least I've lived a good and fulfilling lifestyle ahahaha
And DUH, start the day off with carbonara, finish with carbonara.
Oh god, we're such fatties. ahhaha
